12. Lost and Found

One of our readers has a graduate's final thesis submitted to the University
of Utah's School of Engineering in 1949 for graduation. It includes a letter
from the graduate's grandmother as well. She'd like to re-unite this with the
owner or the owner's family.

"I graduated from UC, Berkeley in 1961 and know how hard it was to prepare a
thesis. This one is hand typed with engineering photos he must have taken
himself and marked that it was accepted for his Civil Engineering degree.

But more important is a birthday card to "My Beloved Grandson" clipped to the
inside cover and a two page, single space letter from her clipped in the back
encouraging him to go out in the world and make a difference and to remember
all the American immigrants who came to America with a dream and to make them
proud, etc.....

Their must be some LDS ancestor who'd love to have this for a family history.

For all we know, he's still alive or sadly, ended up in Korean War because he
wasn't married and lost his life.

The family was from Ogden but he lived in Salt Lake. Mother was Vera Beason
who wrote patriotic books. Grandmother who wrote letter from 1181 E 24th
Street, Ogden was Lilliebell McChesney Falck (Mrs. J.G. ), (formerly Mrs.
S.H. Frey). I think main lines may have died out. Could find little on them.

Thank you again for your help! Grace S."
