 7. This Week's Stories and Requests for Help We try to post stories and comments from our readers each week. Send your story to newsletter@tias.com. -- Here's another "haunted" story from Sheila A: I collect inkwells, and purchase quite a few from on-line vendors. This particular purchase was crystal, with a silver rim. I looked at the photos closely, and there was no engraving apparent on the rim in the listing. I was the only bidder, and got the inkwell for a song. When the item arrived, I was astonished CÇô the rim was engraved CÇ£With Love from GeorgeCÇØ. George, my former husband, had died some months earlier. Although we had not been married in years, we had patched up our differences, and remained best friends until his untimely death. During our marriage, and afterward, he would surprise me with things he thought would please me -- but I never expected he would continue to do so after his death! -- If you have a "haunted" collection, drop us a note at newsletter@tias.com. -- Steven M sent in this picture and wants to know if anyone can help ID this tool (what it is and what it was used for): "I picked up several vintage tools today at an auction. I am forwarding a photo of an unusual old brace hoping you can tell me what it is & its use. Any information would be greatly appreciated. I could not find any markings and it is such a strange item with so many different lengths. It has offset gears in the middle which is quite different. I thought maybe the photo might help."
