4. This Week's Stories and Requests for Help

We try to post stories and comments from our readers each week. Send your
story to newsletter@tias.com and we'll publish it in an upcoming newsletter.

A reader from Ohio sent in this:

"Would anyone know anything about this bowl?  It has a "luster" finish, sort
of "pearly" all over, with a spattered looking gold edge.  There is just one
cutout along the edge.  There are no marks on the back.  It was my
grandmother's, who was born in the 1890s, but I don't know anything more about
this.  It's about 8 inches across and about 2.25 inches tall at the peaks of
the edge.  Any idea as to the age or what company may have made this?"
