 8. Vintage Recipes Be sure to check out our vintage recipe archive online at: http: /bit.ly/1vDXn6h Over 1200 wonderful vintage recipes are listed. Email recipes@tias.com if you would like to submit a recipe. Linda G. had several requests that we published a few weeks ago, and there were quite a number of responses. Linda sent this thank you note: I hope I can use this as tool for thanking everyone for answering my requests for several recipes. I will get them printed out right away and am sure I will treasure each one every time I cook one of the dishes. -- Janice B sent in a request for a deviled egg that wasn't "deviled" but on the sweet side. Here are some responses: I think that if you mash the yolk with Miracle Whip you might achieve what you are looking for. Let us know! Wendy M -- For that sweet taste in deviled eggs try mashing the yolks with Virginia Brand Vidalia Onion Vinegarette. We get it at Sam's. Another suggestion is to use a sweet Marzetti's dressing. Sent from Joyce's phone -- My guess would be that using Miracle Whip (salad dressing) in addition to or in place of "real" mayonnaise is what accounts for the sweet taste in the filling. Miracle Whip contains both high fructose corn syrup and sugar. Anna B -------------------------- --- BBBS/Li6 v4.10 Dada-2 * Origin: Prism bbs (1:261/38) |
