Charles,

I got a reply from Epson to my question about the ftp.epson.com entry I
found in My Network Places.

Here it is:

Thank you for contacting Epson regarding your EPSON Stylus NX430.

Not too sure why ftp.epson.com would be listed on your Network Places.
This is a link to our company server, and is not part of your printer's
installation. This link only appears when a system is trying to access
our secure server. You should be able to remove the link from your
Network Places on your computer. For assistance on removing the link,
please visit the Microsoft website.

We take your satisfaction seriously and hope that we have helped resolve
your issue. If you receive a survey from us, we would greatly appreciate
if you could take a few minutes to provide us with feedback about your
support experience. Your ratings and comments are extremely important to
us.

If this did not resolve your issue, please reply to this email for
further assistance. If you have a different support issue, submit a
request via our U.S. or Canada Support Site and we will respond in a
timely manner.

Thank you again for contacting Epson.

I looked a bit in XP Help & Support but couldn't find anything there so
I went ahead and deleted ftp.epson.com and it and all it sub-entries
were removed.

When I was searching for answers about the ftp entry by looking in the
Users Guide for the NX430 I noticed the Guide was on their Server
instead of my hard drive, so I asked them about it.

I'd rather have my NX430 Users Guide on my computer just like the CX3810
Users Guide already is, so I can read it when I want without being on
the internet to read it.
