Have not had to do it in a LONG time so do not know if that functionality was depricated to force people to use Time Machine.... If you are in a pinch, and speed is not a factor and you are good with a CLI.. dd works well. I believe that is what I used the last time I had to duplicate a drive. In fact if memory serves me correctly. It was an emergency disk duplication for a failed WINDOWS PC at work. Sometimes having a Mac Notebook comes in handy in a Windows enviroment. Since MS does not provide such a utility for free.
