i can't remember if my memory sequence was ART or RAT to keep them straight
for the original to the second and then Taurus which i know was third... i
keep wanting to say that Argus was first and then Radius... especially when i
have this readme in my OLDRADIUS directory...
ENG:
If you update from the other Argus clone or Argus
or from Radius version less than 4.009-23.06.2002
then you SHOULD *recompile* your nodelists!!
[time passes]
ahh! digging about, i found a FAQ in my oldradius directory...
1.1 Q: Radius vs Argus. Differences, advantages, disadvantages.
A: Radius is based on Argus version 3.210 code. It implements all
the same functions as Argus does. A lot of parameters are moved
to a text configuration file from the Windows registry (HOMEDIR
for example). Thus you can use independent settings on the same
computer without changing the "home path" parameter in the
registry. Also some features were added and some Argus bugs
fixed. You may read this in HISTORY file. These are Radius
advantages. Its disadvantages are its own bugs, full adapted
help and support absences.
sadly i don't have a similar TAURUSFAQ file... oh well...
so the phrase to remember is "They are a work of ART" ;)
on-topicizer: to answer your question, yes, radius introduced the ini files...
argus stored everything in the registry...
