Reference, 1983, A school in Navy.  Also 1989-1995 A school instructor.  A
schhol is entry level navy training.  In 1983 they taught me keypunching for
cards.  It had 80 characters.  Control characters were the reseved space.
Teletype redates that so it is possible it has a relation but as best I know,
the keypunch card is the one related to modern computer use of the 72 as the
older teletype was more of an input expectation without frames expected?
