GEM is for the TV end of things, both for live streaming and archived shows. 
I currently have it working with firefox although they recommend Chrome.  The
radio signal is a different service and it used to be far more accessable
(compatible) for a wide variety of apps, many which work great from the linux
console.  They seem to be going out of their way to totally fsck things up. 
:-/

TV I can live without.  At the moment I use GEM for the national news but it
can also be had at YouTube who do a way better job of streaming live or
otherwise.

Sounds interesting.  The archive directory is what I'd like access to.
