If by non-ascii you mean 8-bit (int128 to int255) then I get the same result except with utf-8 characters that I lack fonts for, such as Chinese, as well as (int128 to int255) which will corrupt a purely utf-8 text msg. They can't be mixed without having to alter the msg in question which is something I won't do.
