I knew I was skirting the edge with 16, especially when they get quoted back. 
So far all the terminals here have no issue with 16 as far as displaying the
originals are concerned.  I am betting the 4 below you shouldn't have problems
with.  Same with 8 or even 12.  16 is a tad too close to call but they are
legitmate and just fit into an 80 character line.  The bash script calls
'nproc' to determine the correct amount of penguins to display.
