RW> RW>> Last few weeks gas has been $2.95 per/gal. Price was because a new RW> RW>> Buckee's super store has opened on the north side of town. Both RW> RW>> truck stops had to match Buckee's price, and so a gas war ensued. RW> RW>> This week I passed WalMart's Murphy station at $3.19 while on my RW> RW>> way to the car wash and on the way back, the price had dropped to RW> RW>> $2.95 again. The two majors on that corner couldn't afford to drop RW> RW>> their prices that low and remained at their lowest of RW> RW>> $3.09...Sheez, and all of this with oil dropping like a glass of RW> RW>> beer to $80/bbl...fortunately, my BP stock remains steady. RW> RN> I don't remember the last time I saw gas under $3. RW>It's been a while, hasn't it...gas prices should be lower, since oil has RW>been $20 cheaper a barrel, but gasoline suppliers aren't going to budge RW>off of their profits without an incentive to lower prices. It is summer, RW>so I don't expect gas prices to get any lower until September, after RW>school starts. Some years back the ARCO Rep put it plainly like it is. Gasoline Prices have NORE to do with what the Traffic wil bear then the Price fo a Ba rell of Oil. and of course it goes up at a blink of an Eye but weeks weeks to come down when the Barrel prices change. Also here the Arco Stations are computer monitered and the price goes down at a particular station when it's sales fall a bit and go up as sales rise to follow the "Whatever the Traffic Will Bear" system. --- þ SLMR 2.1a þ Typo Tom Strkes Again * Origin: Fidonet Since 1991 And Still Here.
