That's what my dad always said. He owned a Texaco and a DX station. One
was on Main St, going downtown. The other was on the highway going through
town. Gas was always cheaper at the Main St. Texaco than it was at the
highway station.

That's probably better than getting a phone call from corporate
headquarters telling the owner to change the pump price...back in those
days there was no requirement to post pump prices like we see today, so
the price was always a surprise when you got to the pump.
