In my case, I always use my debit card and the reader at the pump where I go, like most of the gas stations here, recognize the card for what it is. So, the only questions it prompts me for is my pin number, what grade of gas I want and if I want a receipt or not. Getting back to those independant owners, many of them close on weekends.(?)
