And with a great deal of Disipline it can really pay off. Because of a
failed first marraige I did not get into buying a home until my middle
40's
Thinking ahead we bit the bullet and paid off the 30 year Homeloan in 15
years which matched my Retirement in 1991.
We did it by cutting back to only the bare necisities and by driving
junk cars. We have never owned and during those years pisked out
transportation from the Consumer Reports WORST USED CAR BUY, Becasue
they were cheaper. We also folowed a disipline of "Earn what you Spend
and ONLY SPEND what you earn". So since I have retired we have never
made a loan payment for anything.
