MH> The early fall season is battery replacement time of the year.

MH> I have been alternating driving my 2012 Charger and my 2002 Monte Carlo -
MH> every other week (mixing some days riding the HD when the weather
MH> permits).

MH> I went out to drive the Monte Carlo yesterday morning and got the weak
MH> battery "click click clicking" noise. Wouldn't turn over. Then I was
MH> trying to think when the battery was last replaced - and it seemed like
MH> it wasn't that long ago.

MH> I keep everything logged when I do anything with my vehicles and took a
MH> look. Turns out the battery was replaced exactly 3 years ago - on a 3
MH> year warranty battery. The years seem to go by much faster as you get
MH> older.. Doesn't seem like 3 years, as I remember replacing it like it
MH> was yesterday.

MH> I recharged it and it starts again, but it will probably have to be
MH> replaced as I figure it will go dead again. They just don't make long
MH> lasting batteries like they used to.

MH> Does anyone have any recommendations for decent batteries?

Switch to an Optima spiral gel cell. I have one that has been working for
over 7 years. You can get them at places like Advance Auto and Autozone plus
other stores. Check them out at optima.com.

MH> I currently have a Sears Diehard - Gold in the Monte Carlo. At least it
MH> lasted as long as the warranty, which some don't even do that.
