Most GM's come with DELCO batteries from the factory MH> For some reason, I thought it was normal years ago to get 5-7 years out MH> of a car battery. Yes years ago batteries did last longer because the electrical load was a lot less then todays cars. I.E. older cars had 35 amp alternators and todays cars hace 105 amp to 200 amp alternators to power all the onboard electrical equipment. The cars since 1975 have had onboard computers and they get more powerful each year and have to draw battery power even when the car is off for the keep alive memory since they do not have hard drives, however I expect that will change soon with the advent of solid state hard drives.
