I have used it for years and years. First with a 1986 Ford Crown Vic that was originally done with it by the previous owner as a final additive when the gasoline went from the old stuff to the new Ethanol stuff. He put it in the tank at the one can per tankfull rate every third tankfull or so. At this time the car still is getting it about every third or fourth tank and has over 160,000 miles on it. As to my recall, this was about the first Ford or so that had the fuel injectors and these are direct injectors one per cylinder in this V8 creation. Highest octane stuff needed and boy does it ever get sorry mileage compared to the original gasoline prior to the go-green junky-punk. Running just fine even today! So then I tried it in my Chevy 305CID 1981 Chevy 1/2-ton Silverado. Engine had to be rebuilt at about 100K miles or so. Wish it were a 350CID but Dad bought it; I didn't. Wound up having to rebuild the 4-Barrel Carb on it which whole thing was a mess because this truck was built in Canada and 'improperly' imported into the USA to fox the EPA stuff. Some US bolts and some EU bolts - grrrr. Anyway I've been using Seafoam in the gas in it which is also, since the Ethanol mess, the highest octane stuff and about one can of Seafoam every twenty or so tanks of gas. Truck now has just under 200,000s mile on it and no carb or like fuel problems at all. OK - tried same stunt on my 1986 GMC van which has a 350CID V8 in it. I bought this one used with 24,000 miles on it. It now has almost 165,000 miles on it and the carb has never even had to be rebuilt! But I'm pretty easy on cars. I look WAY up front when driving and will NOT use a cell phone when driving. As a very high time instrument flight instructor and pilot, even in 1968 of all instrument filght accidents two out of every three were caused by communications distractions. The truck has only needed three brake jobs since I got it when Dad died. The van has had only two total in it's entire life! The Ford was driven by a pedal dancer for years before I started driving it. We won't go into the waltzy-paltzy brake downs and how much work has been done on the brake system in it .. chortle. Anyway, that's what I know about Seafoam. Mike Luther N117C at 1:117/100 KW> Any thoughts on Seafoam addative?
