"Isn't the car supposed to tell you when it needs oil? My last one did..."

Her Subaru Outback lit the MIL. I plugged my OBD reader and got a code about
insufficient oil pressure. Check the oil, and there was NONE.

I suggested she drive it immediately to the local oil changers, and she said
she was taking it in to the dealer on Monday and wasn't driving it.

Sunday, I get a call from her - the car died on the road while she was driving
to TARGET.

It passed their tests OK, don't think she bored it out. $2900 for a valve
adjustment, replacing a leaky oil pan and head gasket, and fingers crossed.
