I've seen worse (LT1's in a L98 and earlier Firebird or Camaro requires a
butcher's mentallity to install).
But an LS engine in a 57 Chevy, especially a non-numbers matching 57 would
be a whole lot more drivable than a tired 283 with a malfuntioning fuel
injection system. (they were mechanical FI in nature, if you recall) I'd
do it in a Heart Beat...nobody knows it isn't a 283, until they challenge
the driver with their late model Mudstains and Challunkers.
