Let's keep thinking that!

Compression was good and they did a "sniffer" test where they test for oil and
coolant in the exhaust, and it passed those tests.

Good news is they're replacing the timing belt for the price of the belt since
they'll have the top end off anyways.

...And I got a letter in the mail from the dealer asking her to bring the car
into the dealer for a trade-in! Apparently used Subarus are in demand enough
for the dealer to try to convince people to trade in 3-4 year old models.
