I'm just now remembering that my ex had that same problem with her Impala and because it was out of warranty, would cost her $500 to put a shield between the starter and the engine. One shade-tree wanted to wrap the starter in some kind of heat reflecting material, but she never had it done. EH> Just a thought... But a good thought. Thanks.
