Has the starter (in particular, the starter solenoid) been replaced? 

When you mentioned having to wait 30 minutes to restart it, that would be a
cool down time.  

The other thing that comes to mind would be fuel pressure regulator.

Does it sound like it is starving for fuel when it doesn't start?
