Probably so, as the 3rd gen heater core was nearly impossible to R&R..

Wish they had done that in the 3rd gen Camaro as well. I had to replace
one of those once and it was no picnic while dropping the rear end far
enough to R&R the fuel tank.

Well there is an alternative. You can buy an external fuel pump that will
provide the same 45lb PSI as the internal pump and get by for a much
lower price. I did that with my 3rd gen Camaro and sold it soon
thereafter.
