AB> I've managed without air conditioning in my car since autumn but my wife AB> and I have a baby on the way so I'll need to get it fixed before next AB> summer. I've been told that it's not just lack of Freon. Besides the AB> compressor, what other things are there to go wrong? The car is a 2005 AB> Toyota Matrix (Corolla hatchback). If it is low on Freon, there is a leak somewhere in the system. Depends on how big of a leak. I would buy a can or two of the A/C charge with leak/fix in it. Give that a shot and see if you are good. There are many parts of the A/C that can leak or be issues. I had a leak in the accumulator, which isn't more than $100 or so for the part - but getting to it was a good deal of labor. - Mark --- WWIVToss v.1.51 * Origin: http://www.weather-station.org * Bel Air, MD -USA (1:261/1304.0) |
