JH> I had thought that the new 9 speed transmission was "ZF" i.e., JH> Zuffenhausen, which makes the trannies for Porsche and Mercedes. The JH> earlier Chrysler trannies were very unreliable. I had a 1999 Grand JH> Cherokee Laredo with an inline 6 that was awesome but had the JH> transmission light go off one time and there was indication of metal JH> fragments in the fluid. It cost well over $650.00 to fix the issue, flush JH> the transmission and replace the sensor. Luckily, my wife took the car JH> during our divorce and I got the newer Honda Accord because I needed the JH> reliability to work and pay her bills :O Yes, that is correct. I have heard they have had some issues with them and know on person first-hand that had to get service on the trans in that vehicle after just 4 months of it being new. I was slightly worried about the relatively new 8-speed trans in my Charger, but it has been doing well. No issues - knock on wood. - Mark --- WWIVToss v.1.51 * Origin: http://www.weather-station.org * Bel Air, MD -USA (1:261/1304.0) |
