I'm not a mechanic at all, but I don't mind turning wrenches on my free time.
Its just too frustrating for me at times. I remember wanting to add a
tachometer to my classic truck. One of my mechanic friends said that it was
super easy to do. Basically, just wire the tach to the ignition coil, then
mount the tach. Its only a few connections -- about 30 minutes of work.

This job took me all weekend. I knew I was in trouble when I unscrewed the
bolts on the ignition coil only to have the bolt break off. It all went
downhill from there.
