MSGID: 2:292/854 170e1b56 There may be a lot wrong with the production of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner at a factory in North Charleston in the state of South Carolina. The New York Times writes about problems with production but also with supervision, which pose a potential risk to safety. Defective components would have been installed in some of the aircraft. Metal scraps would also have been left behind in many planes. The newspaper relies on internal e-mails, company documents and federal archives. Journalists from the newspaper also spoke to dozens of employees and former employees. One technician spoke of debris left behind that regularity was dangerously close to the wiring under the cockpits. The aircraft maker himself strongly opposed the accusations. The New York Times would also have rejected an invitation from Boeing to visit the factory. Boeing is worldwide under a magnifying glass after the two deadly disasters in a short time with Boeings of the type 737 MAX. Among other things, the security checks are questioned. --- D'Bridge 3.99 SR41 * Origin: AVIATION ECHO HQ (2:292/854) SEEN-BY: 1/123 15/2 123/1970 153/757 221/1 226/17 229/107 354 426 SEEN-BY: 229/728 1014 240/5832 249/317 400 261/38 280/464 292/854 SEEN-BY: 292/8125 317/3 322/757 335/364 342/200 393/68 396/45 633/280 SEEN-BY: 801/188 3828/7 PATH: 292/854 229/426 |
