MSGID: 2:292/854 132c201d A Bombardier DHC-8-200 from SafariLink did a runway excursion Friday during the landing on Kichwa Tembo Airstrip, after the aircraft collided with two wildebeest. The animals were on the runway when the plane tried to land. The aircraft, with registration 5Y-SLM, was en route from Nairobi to the airstrip at Maasai Mara, a famous Kenyan nature park, when the incident occurred. Due to the collision with the wildebeest, a wheel leg broke off the landing gear, causing the aircraft to land next to the runway. According to SafariLink, none of the passengers or crew were injured. The two wildebeest got off less well. --- D'Bridge 3.99 * Origin: AVIATION ECHO HQ (2:292/854) SEEN-BY: 1/123 15/2 153/757 221/1 226/17 229/275 354 426 728 1014 SEEN-BY: 240/5832 249/317 400 261/38 280/464 292/854 8125 317/3 322/757 SEEN-BY: 335/364 342/200 396/45 633/280 801/188 3828/7 PATH: 292/854 229/426 |
