MSGID: 2:292/854 0d261a45 Boeing is again experiencing problems with the production of its 787 Dreamliner, which is why safety inspectors want to perform their quality checks retroactively. According to the Wall Street Journal, this would appear from an internal government memorandum dated August 31 and from sources familiar with the circumstances. Boeing reportedly informed American aviation regulators about the production of parts by the South Carolina plant that did not meet its own standard regulations. The Federal Aviation Administration would now consider accelerating an investigation of 100 affected aircraft. Of the 1,000 Dreamliners that have been delivered since 2011, approximately 900 could eventually qualify for further inspection. --- DB4 - August 7 2020 * Origin: AVIATION ECHO HQ (2:292/854) SEEN-BY: 1/123 90/1 120/340 123/131 221/1 226/30 227/702 229/101 424 SEEN-BY: 229/426 664 240/5832 249/317 400 261/38 280/464 292/854 8125 SEEN-BY: 317/3 322/757 335/364 342/200 396/45 633/280 801/188 PATH: 292/854 229/426 |
