|  Last 4 747-800s go to Atlas Air  |
|  12 Jan 21 16:03:40  |
MSGID: 2:292/854 14043403 Freight carrier Atlas Air has ordered four more 747-8 Freighters, with delivery scheduled between May and October 2022. These are the last 747s to be built by Boeing before production of this iconic aircraft type ends. According to Atlas Air, the choice for the Jumbo jet is logical. The 747-8F is the best and most versatile wide-body cargo plane on the market, said John W. Dietrich. His airline already flies ten 747-8s and also has a large fleet of 747-400s. So while Atlas Air loves it, that's not enough to save the Jumbo's production. Boeing announced this summer that it will end in 2022. The last passenger 747 rolled off the production line in 2017, since then only the freight version has been built. --- DB4 - Dec.21 2020 * Origin: AVIATION ECHO HQ (2:292/854) SEEN-BY: 1/123 80/1 90/1 105/81 120/340 123/131 221/1 226/30 227/702 SEEN-BY: 229/101 424 426 664 1016 240/5832 249/317 400 261/38 280/464 SEEN-BY: 292/854 8125 317/3 322/757 335/364 342/200 396/45 633/280 SEEN-BY: 801/188 PATH: 292/854 229/426 |
