|  A220 for Delta  |
|  17 Sep 18 14:14:30  |
This week Airbus rolled the first A220-100 for Delta Air Lines from the factory in the Canadian Mirabel (Montreal). The airplane undergoes various tests in the coming months and will be commissioned by Delta in early 2019. Delta has ordered a total of 75 A220-100s, each with a capacity of 109 passengers. It is the first airline in the United States to add the small Airbus (formerly Bombardier CS100) to its fleet. The deal caught some flack when President Trump threatened to tax the bottom out of this order, heavily influenced by Boeing claiming the airplane was sold too cheap. Interesting to know is that Boeing has no competitor in this category which at the moment is dominated by Embraer. --- D'Bridge 3.99 SR33 * Origin: AVIATION HQ (2:292/854) |
