|  Aeroflot considers the purchase of lease  |
|  21 Apr 22 21:42:43  |
MSGID: 2:292/854 1a2e400d TZUTC: 0200 Russian airline Aeroflot is considering buying eight leased Airbus aircraft. They are planes that are stuck in Russia. The transaction is possible because the European Union offers financiers of the aircraft an opportunity to get rid of the aircraft, Russian state news agency Tass reported. The EU would make an exception to the sanctions for the planes for this month. Aeroflot will make a decision on the purchase on Monday at the earliest. This concerns aircraft of the Airbus A330 type. Most of the approximately 500 foreign aircraft that are stuck in Russia have been leased. Airlines rent planes for a certain period of time and can return them to the owner at the end of the contract, or purchase them. However, Russia previously passed a law that prevents foreign planes from departing from Moscow without permission. --- DB4 - 20220222 * Origin: AVIATION ECHO HQ (2:292/854) SEEN-BY: 1/123 15/0 80/1 90/1 105/81 106/201 120/340 123/131 129/305 SEEN-BY: 129/330 331 153/7715 218/700 221/1 226/30 229/110 111 317 SEEN-BY: 229/400 424 426 428 470 664 700 280/464 282/1038 292/854 SEEN-BY: 292/8125 301/1 317/3 320/219 322/757 335/364 342/200 396/45 SEEN-BY: 460/58 633/280 712/848 PATH: 292/854 229/426 |
