Malaysia Airlines and Malaysia Airport remember today that it is exactly 9
years ago that flight MH370 disappeared. "Always in our thoughts and prayers",
the company reports in a message with a photo. 239 occupants died in the
incident with the Boeing 777-200 from MAS, but what happened at the time has
never been clarified.
 
The Boeing disappeared from radar shortly after 1:19 a.m. local time near
Penang (Malaysia) and the Gulf of Thailand on a flight from Kuala Lumpur to
Beijing. Wreckage from the plane has washed up in several places in recent
years, but the exact location of the wreckage has never been determined.
 
There are indications that the aircraft crashed deliberately and could not be
found, because various systems that could have traced it or the engines turned
out to be turned off.
 
Starting today, Netflix will broadcast the series 'MH370 - The plane that
disappeared' with an overview of what could have happened.
