An Ilyushin IL-76 caught fire at Gissar airport in Tajikistan on Friday
evening. During take-off, a fire reportedly broke out in one of the engines of
the Russian transport plane, after which the aircraft ended up in the grass.
 
The Ukrainian news agency RBC reports this based on reports on Telegram.
According to the news agency, the plane burned down completely. There were
eight people on the plane and they reportedly escaped unscathed. The
registration number of the aircraft is not yet known, but according to RBC it
is a transport aircraft of the Russian army.
 
This is the second time in a short time that an accident has occurred with an
Ilyushin Il-76. At the end of last month, another Il-76 crashed in Mali.
