Boeing says it is investigating a threat from hackers who allegedly stole
large amounts of sensitive data from the American aerospace and defense group.
LockBit, a group that deals with cybercrime, threatens to put that data online
on its own site if Boeing does not contact them.
 
"Sensitive data has been stolen and is ready for publication," the hacker
group stated on a page with a countdown clock.
 
"For now, we are not sending out lists or samples to protect the company, but
that won't be the case qfter the deadline." Boeing is "investigating the
claims," a company spokeswoman said.
 
LockBit is one of the most active hacker groups conducting ransomware attacks.
They threaten to leak captured data if they do not receive a ransom.
