The first commercial flight of the Russian-made MC-21 will not take place
until 2025 or 2026 at the earliest, state-owned company Rostec announced this
week. According to the CEO, the test phase is taking longer than expected. The
development of the aircraft has been severely affected by the Western
sanctions against Moscow after the invasion of Ukraine. As a result, the
manufacturer can no longer obtain foreign parts.
