|  No flying above Iran  |

The United States is warning its own airlines for flights through Iran's airspace. This is shown by a message from the aviation authority FAA. The warning follows the tensions between the US and Iran after the cancellation of the nuclear deal by President Trump. According to the message addressed to US carriers, caution is required in flights over Iran due to increased military activity. In December 2017, a US civilian plane over Iran was found to be intercepted by jet fighters, reports Reuters. The Flight Service Bureau, which provides information on the safety of airspace, asks airlines to take into account the bad relationship between the US and Iran. The US Department of State counsels citizens not to travel to the country because people are arrested and detained without cause. According to the Flight Service Bureau, an unscheduled landing of an American aircraft in Iran, for example due to a technical defect or a sick passenger, could cause problems. The agency emphasizes that there is no 'perfect route' for flights over the Gulf region and the Middle East. For example, American aircraft can fly above Iraq, but because of potential danger from fighting on the ground at no less than 26,000 feet. --- D'Bridge 3.99 SR33 * Origin: AVIATION HQ (2:292/854) |
