   happen.   
      
   A deranged Northern California mother killed her 3-year-old   
   daughter last week, crammed her into a suitcase and stuffed the   
   tot’s body in a freezer before going on the run, shocking court   
   papers revealed Tuesday.   
      
   Sara Krueger, 23, and her boyfriend, Ryan Scott Warner, 26, both   
   admitted to Napa police that they killed little Kayleigh Slusher   
   last Thursday — just one day after cops went to the couple’s   
   Napa home to check on the blond-haired little girl’s well-being,   
   the San Francisco Chronicle reported.   
      
   "Whether you have children or grandchildren of whatever age,   
   hold them a little tighter tonight," Napa County District   
   Attorney Gary Lieberstein told reporters after the alleged   
   murderers appeared in court Tuesday.   
      
   Krueger and Warner were charged with murder and assault on a   
   child resulting in death after button-nosed Kayleigh was found   
   beaten to death in her bed, with evidence she’d been sexually   
   abused, on Saturday afternoon.   
      
   Neither suspect has been charged with sexual assault.   
      
   Witnesses saw the girl’s guardians leaving their home with   
   luggage earlier Saturday. Cops collared the duo around 11 a.m.   
   Sunday near a train station in El Cerrito, a Bay Area town 30   
   miles south of Napa.   
      
   Warner and Krueger both have criminal pasts and were no   
   strangers to police. Just last week, cops went to the house to   
   check on the little girl after someone complained.   
      
   The very next day, Wednesday, someone called again and told cops   
   to check on the girl because they feared Kreuger was using   
   drugs, letting people stay in her second-floor apartment and not   
   feeding the child, the Chronicle reported.   
      
   Police went to the home 14 times since 2012, KPIX-TV reported.   
      
   On Thursday, cops said, the girl was beaten to death, stuffed in   
   a suitcase, eventually crammed in a freezer and then left   
   lifeless in her bed as her mother and boyfriend tried to flee.   
      
   “There was no indication that anyone would be in danger in that   
   household,” Napa police Capt. Jeff Troendly told the Associated   
   Press. “When you hear a case like this, it’s shocking and   
   disheartening.”   
      
   Krueger loved boasting about little Kayleigh online, calling   
   herself a “Full Time Mommy! :)” on her Facebook profile.   
      
   On Instagram, she describes herself as "the proud mommy of a   
   beautiful and smart lil girl named Kayleigh. She's my world.   
   She's made me a better person :)"   
      
   Neighbors say the boyfriend moved in within the last year and   
   “it all went downhill from there.”   
      
   The murdered girl’s biological father is an inmate at the San   
   Quentin State Prison.   
      
   Krueger and Warner are held without bail and are scheduled to   
   return to court Feb. 25.
