   No European country has automatic /jus soli/ birthright citizenship.   
   The only two that formerly had it, the UK and Ireland, both ditched it -   
   the UK in 1983, Ireland in 2004.  In all of Europe, the only way a child   
   born to aliens is automatically a citizen is if the child would   
   otherwise be stateless.   
      
   The left are always haranguing Americans that "we need to be more like   
   Europe."  In this case, that's right.
