XPost: or.politics, seattle.politics, talk.politics.guns       XPost: alt.california, can.politics, rec.crafts.metalworking       XPost: az.politics       From: LaLaLaLaLaLa@philhendrie.con              No European country has automatic /jus soli/ birthright citizenship.       The only two that formerly had it, the UK and Ireland, both ditched it -       the UK in 1983, Ireland in 2004. In all of Europe, the only way a child       born to aliens is automatically a citizen is if the child would       otherwise be stateless.              The left are always haranguing Americans that "we need to be more like       Europe." In this case, that's right.                     --              I ceased in the year 1764 to believe that one can convince one’s       opponents with arguments printed in books. It is not to do that,       therefore, that I have taken up my pen, but merely so as to annoy them,       and to bestow strength and courage on those on our own side, and to make       it known to the others that they have not convinced us.              Georg Christoph Lichtenberg       1742 - 1799              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
