   My French causes native speakers to grimace in severe pain; however, I   
   believe that the plural of "sabot" is also "sabot".   
      
   It is properly pronounced "sa-voe" where the 'v' is an aspirated 'b';   
   the 't' is silent.  (Accent on the second syllable.)   
      
   It can also be translated to: "penis"... or, better, I suppose:   
   "dick", as that use is considered vulgar.   
      
   I defer to a French speaker, of course, if we have any.
