   I wasn't aware that "black talon" ammunition was prohibited; if you're   
   gonna waste someone, what's the difference how you do it?   
      
   The joke was that a "dum-dum" round really can't also be "armor   
   piercing" because they're two mutually exclusive ideas... well, they   
   did use a lead clay effectively against hardened armor in WWII that   
   would cause it to spall inside the vehicle.   
      
   We had the devil's own time with machine gunners who'd file off the   
   points of 7.62 rounds thereby making them "dum-dum"s.  What would   
   happen is that the lead would jump out of the jacket in the barrel...   
   always with a less than desirable outcome.
