XPost: alt.law-enforcement, alt.politics, sac.politics       XPost: talk.politics.guns       From: bksperman@outlook.com              A police officer stopped a shooting suspect by striking him with       a patrol vehicle Monday night in Tucson, officials said.              Law enforcement had been looking for 48-year-old Paul Elliott       Irvin since early Monday, when police say he shot at a Tucson       officer during a traffic stop before fleeing. The officer was       uninjured.              A multiagency manhunt led police to a bus stop where officers       found Irvin, who tried to flee on foot again but was stopped       after an officer struck him with a patrol vehicle.              Police said Irvin had a firearm with him when he was arrested.              Irvin was treated at the scene and taken to a hospital with non-       life-threatening injuries, according to a Tucson Police       Department Facebook post. He will be booked into jail upon his       release.              Tucson police said they received help from Homeland Security       Investigations and the U.S. Marshals Office. It wasn't clear       which agency's officer hit Irvin with the vehicle.              At about 3 a.m. Monday, police said, Irvin was driving a 1993       Chevy pickup truck with a passenger when he was stopped by a       Tucson police officer              During the stop, Irvin got out of the truck and ran, police       said. An officer chased Irvin and during the chase, Irvin and       the officer shot at each other, police said.              The officer was not injured in the exchange, but Irvin was able       to get away. The passenger in Irvin's truck, who was not       identified, also was uninjured, police said.              https://www.freep.com/story/news/local/arizona/2018/05/15/tucson-       police-hit-shooting-suspect-patrol-car-during-escape/611093002/              --- SoupGate-Win32 v1.05        * Origin: you cannot sedate... all the things you hate (1:229/2)    |
