   An Arizona sheriff is warning that America will face “scary” consequences   
   thanks to the “political theater” of President Biden’s sweeping executive   
   actions on immigration.   
      
   Mark Dannels, the sheriff of Cochise County, which shares a border with   
   Mexico, said he’s already seen a swell of migrants in the area.   
      
   “Since the primary ’til now, our statistics in Cochise County — we have a   
   virtual camera system, 800 cameras are deployed — we’ve doubled, doubled   
   those coming into our county and along the southwest border,” he said on   
   Fox News Tuesday.   
      
   “This political theater that’s being played out is scary to all of us on   
   the southwest border, sheriffs, police departments and our federal   
   partners and every American should be standing up on this.”   
      
   He noted that people from dozens of countries breached the southwest   
   border in 2019, including gang members and children being “exploited” by   
   cartels.   
      
   “It goes back to show you how vulnerable our southwest border is to   
   include every American in this country if we don’t have a secure border,”   
   he added.   
      
   Biden has already signed numerous executive orders reversing the Trump   
   administration’s immigration policies, including issuing a moratorium on   
   deportations for 100 days and halting construction of the border wall.   
      
   The moratorium, however, was temporarily blocked Tuesday as part of a   
   lawsuit filed by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.   
      
   In the days before Biden’s inauguration, a caravan of migrants from   
   Honduras was en route to the US, claiming that the new president would   
   “help” them.   
      
   Dannels said that under former President Donald Trump, border security was   
   a more collaborative effort.   
      
   “We had a very positive, proactive relationship with President Trump at   
   the table to work out community issues,” he said. “Police chiefs and   
   sheriffs are experts of communities. Our federal government is supposed to   
   be experts of national security and border security.   
      
   “Together that’s a recipe of success for every American and what I’m   
   seeing now is we’re going to go back in time and play this political   
   theater at the backs and the risks of every American.”   
      
   Dannels called Biden’s actions on immigration “hasty.”   
      
   “We’ve been down this road before,” he said. “I don’t know why we can’t   
   look in the past and find balance in our processes, our programs and stop   
   this madness.”
