I am thinking of creating a jabber server for the bbs-scene.org community. 
The inital idea is to have a xmpp federated server that people could use as
a chat server and integrate it with the irc.bbs-scene.org IRC network so
that people could chat and send/get PMs.  Then the lightbulb went off.

I'd be willing to open it up for bbs software developers to use if they
wish to integrate it with their bbs packages.  Essentially make one big
global chat system for bbses.

Thoughts? Ideas? Words of hatred?
