I'm game for really any type of conversation about BBS'ing.... but.... having
been around for a long time, I notice the following patterns.

- Linux Linux Linux. An obscene amount of Linux, to the point of a few who
felt the need to shove it down my throat when opportunity arose. Yes I know
theres a tinkering aspect of Linux. Its fun to mess around with but I'm the
type of Sysop who made an XP system work and largely left it alone. I simply
do not have interest in the tech-aspect that much anymore so that excludes me
from at least 90% of most conversation.

- Every few years or so a Sysop makes noise with the "Next Best Thing" which
when that does not catch on, that Sysop and conversation vanishes.

- Sysops who have really good intentions and well-meaning, who up and vanish,
in some cases the ZC of a popular Othernet which really had the good Sysop
convo you mention.... left many Sysops "hanging" with a bad aftertaste.

But its fun to run a board and I cannot imagine my tech-life without it.
