You mentioning high school and WWIV got me thinking. There were not too many long-running WWIV boards in the area I lived in c1988-1997. Most of them were were like Commodore boards... up for a while and then disappeared. But there was one that was up for most of that period, until BBSing started to wane. It was run by one of the local high school computer departments. Considering that kids are only in high school so long before moving on, looking back I am surprised it stayed active for more than 4 years. * SLMR 2.1a * IF numcooks > .maxcooks THEN;SET V broth = 'spoiled';END --- SBBSecho 3.14-Linux * Origin: capitolcityonline.net * Telnet/SSH:2022/HTTP (1:2320/105) SEEN-BY: 1/123 15/0 18/200 90/1 103/705 105/81 106/201 114/705 116/17 SEEN-BY: 116/18 120/302 340 616 123/10 120 131 124/5016 129/215 305 SEEN-BY: 129/330 331 153/250 757 7715 154/10 30 40 50 700 203/0 218/700 SEEN-BY: 218/840 220/70 90 221/0 1 6 360 226/17 18 30 100 227/114 SEEN-BY: 229/110 111 112 113 206 317 400 424 426 428 452 470 550 664 SEEN-BY: 229/700 230/0 240/5832 250/5 8 266/512 267/800 280/464 5003 SEEN-BY: 282/1038 292/8125 298/25 301/1 305/3 317/3 320/219 322/757 SEEN-BY: 335/364 341/66 234 342/200 396/45 423/81 460/58 633/280 712/848 SEEN-BY: 770/1 2320/0 33 105 195 304 2452/250 3634/12 4500/1 PATH: 2320/105 154/10 280/464 221/1 6 218/840 770/1 317/3 229/426 |
