Slackware was my first exposure to Linux.  Got it on a Walnet Creek CD in the
early '90s.  The version I had was strictly command line level, everything had
to be configured through config files and IIR, little documentation.  I gave
up on it pretty quick.  I don't think I gave it another shot until Red Hat
came out, which included X Windows.
