that depends on the BBS software... it is likely also limited to only private
mail... private mail being FTN netmail which is similar to internet email...

FTN echomail is similar to internet news... some email clients also function
as news clients... some BBS systems offer their echomail areas in a news
format... the most common "problem" is that a BBS maintains the last read
pointers of its users... news cannot do that as there is no facillity to pass
that information from the client back to the server for storage... news
clients maintain their own last read pointers...
