   The tax is 5% + 7% = 12% now. The HST will be 12%.  I don't see what   
   the fuss is about.  All that changes is some fine adjustments in just   
   what is taxable.   
      
   The one nice thing about sales tax is even rich bastards with clever   
   tax lawyers still pay it. It is a hard tax to weasel out of.  It taxes   
   CONSUMPTION -- what you suck out the general pool of goods.  It seems   
   to me a rich guy who blows his money on champagne and yachts should   
   pay more tax that a rich guy who lends out his money to others to   
   create businesses.
